Analogue Strain Gauges

The SGA range of high specification, analogue strain gauge amplifiers has been designed for universal use and offers a degree of flexibility that makes these amplifiers perfect for use in a multitude of configurations, ideal for OEM customers. Added to this, LCM Systems offers free calibration when any of the SGA range is purchased with LCM load cells.

One of the main features of the SGA range is the very stable bridge excitation combined with the amplifiers’ flexibility. The two versions, the 110/230V ac-powered SGA/A and the 18-24V dc-powered SGA/D both offer 10vdc or 5vdc on-board excitation and are capable of powering up to 4 x 350ohm strain gauge bridges. User selectability was also key in the design of these amplifiers. Any sensor with an input sensitivity range of  0.06 to 29mV/V can be amplified to give 10V, 5V, 0-10V, 0-5V, 0-20mA or 4-20mA outputs and using a combination of switches and a potentiometer, users have a selectable offset of  70% FS. Wide range filtering from 1Hz to 5kHz can also be specified.

The SGA amplifiers come complete in an IP65 ABS field case with cable glands. Its versatility means it can be integrated with larger instrumentation systems or can be calibrated for use with any LCM sensor. Typical applications include force measurement systems, simple weighing configurations and as a device to convert load cell signals for long cable run applications.
