Emergency call test solution selected.

Enhanced reliability and efficiency in development and verification of next-generation automotive eCall Systems.

Hyundai Mobis Co., a global automotive parts vendor headquartered in Korea, has selected Anritsu’s eCall test solution for the development and verification of Hybrid eCall and Next Generation eCall (NG eCall) Automotive emergency call systems.

Starting this year, the European Union (EU)* mandates the installation of NG eCall, which uses 4G (LTE) networks, in all new vehicle models requiring type approval. However, since 4G networks are not fully deployed in some regions, conventional eCall systems using 2G/3G networks are still necessary. To address this challenge, HYUNDAI MOBIS is developing “Hybrid eCall” in-vehicle systems that are compatible with both NG eCall and eCall.

Verifying Hybrid eCall has traditionally required separate test solutions for NG eCall and eCall. Furthermore, building a simulation environment replicating diverse network conditions for realistic operation posed a significant technical challenge to improving verification efficiency.

To overcome these challenges, HYUNDAI MOBIS has selected Anritsu’s all-in-one test solution combining the eCall Tester MX703330E with the Signalling Tester MD8475B for comprehensive testing of Hybrid eCall, NG eCall, and eCall. In addition, its versatile features - such as handover for switching between 2G/3G/4G systems and base stations, and cell configuration for adjusting signal strength - can simulate various network conditions. Leveraging this solution has significantly enhanced the reliability and efficiency of HYUNDAI MOBIS’s development and verification processes.

Anritsu remains committed to supporting the safety of increasingly advanced connected cars and smart mobility by providing cutting-edge test solutions and contributing to the growth of the automotive industry.
