The results are in!

The election of members to the board of the International Society of Automation (ISA) has been completed and the names of those elected have been announced.

Paul Gruhn, PE, CFSE.
President-Elect Secretary is an American, Paul Gruhn, P.E., CFSE. Paul is extremely well known in the automation sector.  He is a Global Functional Safety Consultant with aeSolutions in Houston, (TX USA). Paul is an ISA Fellow, Co-Chair and 26 year member of the ISA 84 standard committee (on safety instrumented systems), the developer and instructor of ISA courses on safety systems. He is the developer of the first commercial safety system software modeling program. He is an ISA 84 Safety Instrumented Systems Expert

He is the author of, or contributor to several books, many of which have been upgraded to second, third and even fourth editions. His particular expertese in the area of safety is reflected in the book titles.  He is also a prolific contributor of article to various technical publications including ISA's own InTech. He is also a speaker very much in demand and presents on ISA training courses. Reflecting this his experience he has authored "Sell More Through Effective Technical Presentations" which is now in its second edition.

Paul’s hobbies include home brewing, golf, painting, guitar, and reading.

The President Elect is elected for a three year period, the first year as President-elect/Secretary, the second as President of the Society and the third as Past-President. He will succeed Brian Curtis of the Ireland Section who was elected to the position last year.
